Brisbane - insane
G'day everybody,
now we're in Brisbane. One of the BIG cities (1.5 Million). We were lucky that some friends of us were already there and stayed in a cheap and luxurious hostel. We enjoy a pool, shared an comfortable kitchen own bath, fridge, microwave and Air-conditioning in every room. Now we noticed, that it is a working hostel and the owner called 'Guy' (that's his real name), tries to get jobs for us. Most of the people in the hostel already have a job. Now it's our turn. Kerstin tries to work with a company that protects the environment and wants to collect donations on the street. Me and Jacco (a Dutch guy) are about to ge a job in a car hire company cleaning cars. As always a big city is expensive and we easily spend a lot of money for transport, food and going out. Especially becaus we lived here over the public holidays, we spend a lot of money, because there was no work available. Kerstin is now about to move into a storehouse owned by a Joga-teacher (she gets free joga lessons ;-).
The time difference is noch 9+ hours, because Queensland doesn't practice 'daylight saving'.
Again we want to thank you for all your comments. We love feedback and always looking forward to new ones ;-).
Our NewYear was wonderful. We enjoyed watching the fireworks at the Brisbane River. The people at our Hostel are almost all Germans, which annoys us a little bit again, because we want to speak English. But we have fun with them and they're friendly.
I'm sorry, but I've to finish now, because Jacco is waiting for me. We go for some shopping now for our daily great dinners.
