Merry Christmas!
There we are... arrived in Byron Bay. I'm now trying to write in english, because I gave this adress to some of our friends we met in Corindi. If some of you have trouble to understand this, just tell me...
Yesterday we arrived in Byron Bay, about 150km north of Grafton. Because last year it was very busy in Byron and a lot of drunken people made trouble, this year it was more familiar. First we had Thai-Dinner and then we went to the beach last night and watched the stars.
Our Berta is now running properly. Because of this we tried to have a ride on the beach at once. If we had taken the right beach acces we wouldn't have bogged ourself in the sand. Because we were eight guys, some had to sleep at the beach and then we watched the sunrise whilst waiting for a 4 Wheel Drive. The first friendly Australian almost bogged himself, when he tried to pull us out and almost break off the front of our car. Hours later we got a lift back to the city and got help from the NRMA (Australian ADAC). Finnaly two 4WDs pulled us onto the the hard part of the beach so that we had the long longed for beach ride ;-)
Now we stay on a temporarily unused festival field and enjoy pure Australia without work the very first time.
Our plan is to stay in Brisbane for new year and try to find work over there.
I'm keen on finding a surfboard the next few weeks, so that I can fulfill my very biggest dream :-D
Please go on reading. Kerstin's entry is right below
